7 For All Mankind - The Beginning of High End Denim

Dahan and Glasser, denim designers who had worked in the apparel industry for years, created the company in response to what they saw as a void in the contemporary denim market.  When 7 For All Mankind launched in the Fall of 2000, they were among the first companies to truly bring premium denim to market scale.

7 For All Mankind’s premium jeans literally exploded onto the scene, quickly earning critical acclaim and an immediate following for its innovative use of fits, fabrics, and finishes in denim. Sales for the first year reached a staggering $13 million, an unheard of figure in the denim market, and have continued to show exponential growth year after year.  They began by designing women's jeans. A men's jeans line was introduced in fall 2002, and its Children Denim Collection for boys and girls in fall 2005. In addition to jeans, 7 for All Mankind produces other clothing items such as skirts, shorts, and denim jackets.

The brand, famously dubbed “Sevens” by fashion editors and stylists, grew to fame in no small part because it became an instant favorite among Hollywood’s elite. 7 For All Mankind jeans continue to rank as a preferred jean among Hollywood’s leading ladies such as Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Garner and Liv Tyler. The company enjoys an almost cult following by trendy chic youth who consider these the top jeans on the market today.

The company continues to expand to this day. In 2006 the company introduced a full apparel line beyond their jeans for men and women.  All in all, Dahn and Glasser demonstrated business and fashion acumen in their decision to strike out as pioneer. The success of the company in the jean market clearly demonstrates this.
